Jawline Filler

AGING OF THE JAWLINE, The bone and soft tissue dissolves around the jawline, and in women, the skull rotates with the chin moving backwards. These features contribute to loss of structural support in the area of the jawline. This loss of structural support in the jaw also contributes to aging of the neck. If a client’s purpose is to look as naturally young as possible then the structure of the jawline must be maintained by replacing the lost structure with dermal filler for support

A MORE BEAUTIFUL JAWLINE: Some people were born with a great jawline, and others were born with a jawline whose appearance could be improved. For those who weren’t born with the perfect jawline, it is so simple to just inject it to improve the appearance.

Dermal filler can improve:

Size of the jaw: some clients need dermal filler to enhance their jawline anywhere from their chins around to their ears

The shape of the jawline Some clients need more volume in the front of their jaw at the chin and some clients need more volume at the side of their jawline under the ear, and some just need to straighten their jawline due to jowls by injecting in the prejowl sulcus:  The client will be assessed and the technician will have a discussion with the client about their anatomy, and how it can be improved.

Jawline after a facelift: Often the jawline near the ears is deformed after a facelift. Dermal filler to rebuild this area can create a more natural appearance

Aging jawline: as we age, we lose structural support in the jawline. This can be replaced with dermal filler

Symmetry of the jawline: asymmetry of the jawline can be improved with dermal filler treatment

Choosing the dose of dermal fillers

The dose required for jawline filling is very variable. It depends on the anatomy and the desired result. Some clients will be satisfied with 2ml, others will more to get the results that they want.

The technician will assess the face and decide on the best dose after taking a history and examining the client. If a client has a history of complications with dermal fillers, or if their budget is small or if they want a more subtle result, then a smaller dose might be chosen to start with.

What happens during the injectables treatment itself?

The face will be cleaned with alcohol.

Ice will be applied to the area briefly before treatment The technician will inject using a very fine needle. Then pressure with gauze will be applied.

How will I look after dermal filler in the jawline?

There may be redness and swelling. Clients often like the swelling in the first couple of days
